Outgoing Executive Director Obiora Ike addressed members of the Globethics.net Board of Foundation as they gathered on 20-21 October 2022 in Geneva, Switzerland and online, reminding them of the African and universal wisdom expressed in the proverb,
“Sow a thought and reap an act. Sow an act and reap a habit. Sow a habit and reap a character. Sow a character and reap a destiny”.
The Board meeting, chaired by the President Christoph Stückelberger, followed the International Conference 2022, during which Board members contributed as panellists and moderators as well as participants in the conference and in the lively celebration of Dr Ike and the welcome of incoming Executive Director Fadi Daou on the evening of 17 October 2022.
Of note during the Board meeting was the appointment of Divya Singh as Vice-president of the Board of Foundation for an initial term of two years starting in January 2023. The main business of the Board was the consideration of a draft Strategy 2023-2027 as the organisation comes to the end of its Strategy 2019-2022. It is planned that the final draft of the new Strategy will be presented to the Board in December 2022 and that it will be launched in January 2023.
