The meeting was presided by the Founding Director and President General of CIDJAP, Msgr. Prof. Obiora Ike (Onwa Global and the IKENGE of Umana Ndiagu), with all the management staff in attendance.
Meeting Purpose:
The purpose of the Continuous Quality Improvement (CQI) meeting was to review and discuss ongoing efforts to enhance the quality of the various arms of CIDJAP. Msgr. Prof. Obiora Ike stated that this regular meeting is a crucial part of CIDJAP’s commitment to maintaining and improving quality standards.
In his opening remarks, Msgr. Obiora Ike began with a comprehensive review of key quality metrics, including funders’ satisfaction ratings and meeting timelines. The Founding Director then shared both positive trends and areas that require improvement, which served as a starting point for the meeting discussion.
Action Plan Updates:
Msgr. Obiora Ike provided updates on the action plans established in previous meetings to address quality issues. Progress was discussed, which included a remarkable progress report made in the CIDJAP education sponsorship desk as reported by the Director of Projects, Dr. Mrs. Ebele Odinachi; the tremendous progress recorded in CIDJAP vocational education arm at Vocational Technical Training Centre Olu Aka Di Mma reported by the coordinator Mr. Samuel Odo.
Ukamaka Cottage Hospital and Primary Health Care Centre, Akpakwumenze, have been rehabilitated and will resume full-time health care delivery in no distance time. Ave Maria Eye Clinic was officially commissioned on 26th October 2023 by the Bishop of the Catholic Diocese of Enugu Most. Rev. C.V.C Onaga.
In the effort to eradicate poverty, Msgr. Prof. Obiora Ike increased the Caritas Desk budget in order to meet up with the growing inflation in the country.
CIDJAP donated right million naira to Umuode village library and four million naira to St. Leo Primary and Secondary School. Furthermore, Zenith Bank, led by Mrs. Jane Nnaji, thanked CIDJAP and Msgr. Obiora Ike for their tireless commitment to working for the poor. Mrs. Jane Nnaji donated two million naira to CIDJAP for her personal social responsibility.
Next Steps:
The meeting concluded with a clear plan for the next steps in the CQI process. This included CIDJAP management account strengthening training to be held on 1st November 2023. CIDJAP Retreat and celebration will be coming up on the 18th of December, 2023.
Assigning Responsibilities: The steering committee for CIDJAP St. Joseph Nur. & Primary School was formed. Setting timelines: Works at the Guardian Angel Motherless Baby home is set to resume immediately.
