On Friday, 24 July 2026, Mr. Peter Gregory Obi, former Governor of Anambra State and presidential candidate of the Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC) for the 2027 presidential election, paid a courtesy visit to Msgr. Prof. Obiora Ike, Founder and Director of the Catholic Institute for Development, Justice and Peace (CIDJAP), at his residence in Enugu.

The visit provided an opportunity for both leaders to engage in a thoughtful exchange on pressing national issues affecting Nigeria. Discussions centred on governance, poverty reduction, social justice, and sustainable development, with a shared concern for improving the living conditions of ordinary citizens.

Both Mr. Obi and Msgr. Ike emphasised the need for ethical leadership, accountability, and people-focused policies capable of addressing Nigeria’s socio-economic challenges. Their conversation reflected a mutual commitment to dialogue and practical solutions for national development.
