Report on CIDJAP Monthly Review Meeting

Attendance:
Rev. Fr. Chidiebere Paul Ani, Dr. Mrs. Ebele Odinachi, Barr. Mrs. Egbuna P.C, Mrs. Julie Okenwa, Sr. Martin Agnes, Sr. Marius Nwahaeri, Sr. Nneka Okanume, Mrs. Uchenna Oji, Mrs. Mary John, Mrs. Lizzy, Mr. Ikenna David, Sr. Chioma, Sr. Annette C. Sullivan.

Opening Formalities and Remarks:
The meeting commenced with opening remarks by Fr. Chidiebere Paul Ani, who welcomed all attendees and emphasized the importance of the monthly review meetings in fostering collaboration and accountability. The opening prayer was led by Mrs. Lizzy, the Manager of Ofuobi Africa Centre, invoking God’s guidance and wisdom throughout the session.

Reading and Adoption of Previous Minutes:
Dr. Ebele Odinachi read the minutes of the previous meeting. The minutes were duly adopted by Mrs. Julie Okenwa and seconded by Mrs. Uchenna Oji.

Matters Arising:
The key issue discussed under matters arising was the submission of the budget by various departments. Members that are yet to submit there unit budget were reminded of the importance of timely budget submissions to ensure smooth operations across CIDJAP units.

Monthly Reports Presentation:
The following reports were presented by respective heads of departments:

  • CIDJAP Academy – Presented by Mrs. Julie Okenwa, the Registrar, highlighted the academy progress and upcoming events.
  • Sponsorship Desk – Presented by Dr. Ebele Odinachi, the Director of Projects, provided updates on sponsorships for the term in review.
  • CIDJAP St. Joseph Nursery and Primary School – Presented by Sr. Marius, the Headmistress, provided details of school activities, improvements, the plan for expansion to Secondary School and upcoming term’s event.
  • CIDJAP Library – Presented by Mrs. Mary, the Chief Librarian, focusing on resource expansion and user engagement.
  • Ofuobi Africa Centre – Presented by Mrs. Lizzy, the Manager, discussed ongoing challenges faced by the Centre.
  • CIDJAP Accounts – Presented by Mrs. Uchenna Oji, the Accountant, provided financial updates and expenditure reports.
  • The Caritas Desk – Presented by Sr. Nneka Okanume, detailed charitable activities and outreach programs planed for the year.
Special Announcement:
A brief pause was taken during the report presentations to announce the 25th Wedding Anniversary celebration of Mr. and Dr. Mrs. Ebele Odinachi, scheduled for March 2, 2025, at St. Paul’s Catholic Church by 10:30 AM. Members were invited to join in the celebration.

Continuation of Report Presentations:
  • Prison Welfare – Presented by Sr. Chioma, highlighted ongoing rehabilitation efforts i the Prisons.
  • CIDJAP Annual Reports 2024 – Presented by Sr. Annette C. Sullivan, provided insights into the Progress of the preparatory stage of the annual report .
  • CIDJAP @ 40 – Updates on preparations for CIDJAP’s @ 40th anniversary celebrations.
  • Guardian Angels Motherless Babies Home (GAMB) – Presented by Sr. Martin Agnes, outlined the home’s activities and needs.
  • CIDJAP Legal Department – Presented by Barr. Mrs. Egbuna, the report addressed legal matters and human rights interventions done by CIDJAP.
  • 2023 Annual Reports – Shared by Fr. Chidiebere Paul Ani, summarizing the previous year's accomplishments and areas for improvement.
Mini Book Launch:
A mini-launching ceremony was held for Sr. Martin Agnes to introduce her new book, "The Gift of Life – A Call to Protect Human Dignity and the Sacredness of Life". Members commended her efforts in advocating for human dignity.

Closing Formalities and Remarks:
Fr. Chidiebere Paul Ani gave closing remarks, appreciating all members for their active participation. Mrs. Mary moved for the adjournment of the meeting, which was seconded by Sr. Chioma.

The closing prayer was led by Sr. Martin Agnes, followed by a final blessing from Fr. Chidiebere Paul Ani.
The meeting was officially adjourned.
