Report on VTTC Trainees Project Defence for 2023 Grandaunts

19th August 2023

The defense started with holy mass at 11:30 am, by Rev. Fr. Chidiebere Ani at VTTC’s new classroom hall. Fr. Chidiebere in his homily encouraged the trainees and the entire VTTC family to be dedicated to their duties referencing the gospel of the day. He particularly encouraged the trainees “always be serious with their training and sincere in rendering their services to the public because their attitude matters a lot.

The project defense started immediately after the mass by 12:15 pm in the presence of the Deputy Director of CIDJAP, the Personnel Manager of CIDJAP, and all the staff of VTTC.

The project defense was kicked off by the automobile trainees who worked on the Automotive Braking System. The device was defined as a mechanical device that increases the frictional resistance that retards the turning motion of the vehicle wheel. In the principle of operation, the brake drum is basically a shallow cylinder with a flange at one end. It is bolted concentrically to the axle hub. The materials used for their job include; Master cylinder, wheel cylinder, brake shoes, brake pipe, return spring, hydraulic reservoir, brake shoe adjuster, brake pedal, brake plate, and brake lining. The project was presented and tested.

Edeh Chukwunonso Samuel who is in the Electrical department worked on the Infrared Burglar Alarm Circuit System. The circuit comprises of transmitter and receiver section. The main work of this project is whenever an infrared (IR) beam between the transmitter and the receiver is interrupted, the alarm circuit is triggered and the buzzer sounds continuously. It can be reset only by pressing the reset button.

A special feature of the infrared burglar alarm is a latching operation which means that the circuit will remain closed or active until an authorized person that has access to the control turns it off. It can also be connected to a spring key lock which can only be opened from the outside. Also, the circuit is highly sensitive. The project was presented and tested.

The defense was closed with prayers and blessings by Rev. Fr. Chidiebere Ani.
